Responsibilities:
- Site Management & Supervision: Direct and manage all on-site personnel, including laborers and subcontractors, to ensure daily operational needs are met.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and drive project timelines (often using 2 week "lookahead" schedules) to prevent bottlenecks and ensure milestones are reached.
- Safety Enforcement: Implement and enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations (such as OSHA standards) to prevent accidents and maintain a secure environment.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to verify that all work meets design specifications, local building codes, and industry quality standards.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain meticulous daily logs of site activities, progress, material deliveries, and any incidents or issues for the project team.
- Resource Management: Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment, ensuring everything is available on-site as required to maintain momentum.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of directly related experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar role overseeing on-site commercial construction activities.
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques, practices, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve project goals.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Knowledge of established building codes and permit requirements.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Basic computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office and Project Management software; experience with Procore is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and walk on uneven terrain
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Must be able to push and carry 50-70 pounds
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend
- Must be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work Monday – Friday 7:00AM – 5:00PM; additional work may be required
- Must possess and maintain a satisfactory background record
